The Consequences of Messing with the Original Work

After being struck with a liquor bottle, a woman decides that survival matters more than being a “good” daughter and throws her deadbeat father out. Divine intervention tied to a piece of land leads her to become Countess Validus, and she hopes to rebuild her family and find a way back home. Her efforts to make life easier for herself grow into businesses, support for the Magic Tower and artists, changes to laws, and the founding of a school. As her staff admires her, a lord follows her closely, and people call her the nation’s hope, she finds herself surrounded by proposals and wondering how these unintended consequences began with simply trying to avoid another blow to the head.
