The Day The Real One Appeared

Mel Slopy, an orphan of common birth, is abandoned by her parents after a childhood fever turns her hair white and leaves them burdened by debt. Noma takes her in, but Mel’s life changes when Duke Heaven mistakes her for his deceased youngest daughter, Bleria Charlotte Heaven, because of their similar hair color. To silence rumors about his father’s unstable state, Damian Jeremiah Heaven asks Mel to pose as Bleria and protect the family’s reputation. Living under the dead girl’s identity, Mel is drawn into preparations for an engagement to Gopher Isaac Allnight, heir to the powerful Allnight Ducal House.
