At two neighboring schools divided by a deep dislike, a quiet boy and a girl meet at his family’s cake shop. Rintaro Tsumugi is a strong, reserved second-year student at Chidori High, a boys’ school known as a haven for troublemakers and fools. Kaoruko Waguri comes in as a customer while helping out at the shop, and Rintaro finds it comfortable to spend time with her. But Kaoruko attends Kikyo Girls’ School, a prestigious girls’ school next door that thoroughly dislikes Chidori High. Their connection begins across the divide between the two schools.
