The Hour of the Mice

Maki Takano and his three closest friends attend a secluded academy for gifted children, where they have lived since being brought there at age three without ever seeing the outside world. Their isolated school is heavily guarded, and the students know little of life beyond its walls. When Kiriko Hinatsu arrives as a new student, Maki feels he has met her before, though no one else seems to remember her. Kiriko tells him the startling truth about the students and their school. Maki must decide whether to remain in his familiar school life or help her escape, risking his own safety and mental health.
