The Ugly Lady’s Secret Pouch

Makeup artist Yoon Seol wakes up in the body of Lila, the heroine of a novel known for its cruel confinements. Having admired Lila’s beauty at first, Seol soon remembers the character’s fate: imprisonment and a loss of her sanity after being assaulted by three men. Determined to avoid that ending, she uses a secret pouch and her makeup skills to make herself look ugly. Ten years later, Lila has escaped the novel’s original route and receives a marriage proposal from an ugly duke. He tells her not to be too afraid, explaining that he is being honest because she was not honest with him first. Lila must now face the question of whether her future holds a “merry bad ending”—a sad-looking conclusion in which the characters are happy—or a happy ending.
