The Villainess Wants to Coexist

After reading the reactions of those around her, the narrator realizes she has possessed Carmen Lacita, a naturally evil woman from a fantasy novel. She must now face the role and reputation that come with inhabiting Carmen’s body. The novel’s heroine, Eleanor, is openly hostile toward Carmen and declares, “You and I cannot coexist.” Bewildered by what Eleanor means, Carmen asks her to stop and hear her out.
