Ushio and Tora

Ushio Aotsuki lives with his family at a Shinto temple, where his samurai ancestor once trapped a gigantic supernatural tiger named Tora beneath a rock with the blessed Beast Spear. While cleaning the temple storehouse, Ushio accidentally unseals Tora’s chamber but refuses to remove the spear after Tora threatens to eat him. When Tora’s presence attracts demons to the temple, Ushio frees him in exchange for his help. The two are drawn into battles against mythological foes as they navigate their uneasy relationship, with Tora trying to understand modern life—and still looking for a chance to gobble up Ushio. The Beast Spear is a formidable weapon that can also enhance its wielder’s physical powers.
