In Tokugawa-era Edo, locksmith Jonosuke uses specially made locks to imprison demons that enter the human world by possessing people. Though the shogunate has brought order and relative prosperity, the darkness in human hearts continues to invite spirits seeking a way into their own world. Jonosuke, known as Edo’s finest locksmith, hunts these demons with help from O-kin, a bewitching divine who relies on unorthodox methods. Their encounters bring them into contact with prominent figures of the era, some of whom become valuable allies when Jonosuke must confront a plot targeting the state’s upper ranks.
