Kagari Shuuya awakens in a white room and is offered reincarnation in another world, along with a choice of race and four extra skills. He chooses to become a half-vampire and takes Light magic to counter his race’s weakness to it, unintentionally creating a new species called Seivalt. His other skills are Language Comprehension, Chain Projection, and Growth Modifier. Reborn in a vast, desolate underground labyrinth with no people or apparent way out, Shuuya struggles to survive alone. Months later, a winged Apostle attacks him. While fleeing and healing, he finds a black tiger statue at an ancient altar and is drawn into a fierce battle. His vampiric blood overwhelms the Apostle by draining her soul, but Shuuya loses consciousness. His remains then reassemble as a small black cat, a Divine Beast from ancient times, which follows him on his journey.
